An unbalanced or
bad nutrition can produce specific deficiencies of vitamins and minerals. This
makes us feel disinterested, apathetic, nervous, tired or not paying enough
attention.
Serotonin,
tryptophan and other elements or substances are the ones in charge of our
happiness.
Serotonin is known as the hormone of happiness. Any alteration of the
levels of this hormone in the organism influences us in choosing one food over
the other. When the levels are low, we choose to eat sweet food. This
neurotransmitter is synthetised from a certain amino acid: tryptophan that our
body doesn’t produce and which needs to be taken through our daily diet. Thus,
tryptophan-rich food work as natural antidepressants.
