Following a vegetarian diet has beneficial effects on our well-being. We show you the benefits of following a plant-based diet.
Having a
vegetarian diet means protecting our health, as it provides us with more
natural and fresh foods, which are rich in nutrients and antioxidants, and
fewer harmful products than a normal diet. This also helps protect us from some
health disorders, such as high cholesterol or overweight.
The benefits
of a vegetarian diet are:
- It is a complete diet, full of carbohydrates,
fats, mineral salts, vitamins and water.
- It provides more natural, fresh and raw foods that
are rich in nutrients, and antioxidants and which are harmful to our
health, such as proteins, saturated fats, uric acid, sugars, sodium and
refined flour.
- It provides the human body with a large quantity
of antioxidants.
- It provides high amounts of fiber, which enhances
intestinal movements and prevents constipation.
- Vegetarians have fewer cholesterol-related
problems.
- It causes fewer cases of obesity, diabetes and arterial
hypertension.
- It does not produce intestinal decomposition, so
it does not cause infections and toxemia.
- It is a diet of strength and resistance because
of its high content of carbohydrates.
- It does not subdue our gut to the exaggerated
work of toxic neutralization.
We must try
to balance our nutritional intake in order to avoid a lack of some vitamins, such
as B12 or D, and minerals
(calcium, iron or zinc). Therefore, it’s advisable to take some supplements
that contain these substances.
